Justice & Government
Applying the LEED rating tools to a government project is a documented and accepted way to achieve sustainable design. It is also a real opportunity for government to reduce spending over time. The GSA conducted a study of 12 federal buildings analyzing key measured performance areas such as energy use, operating costs, water use, occupant satisfaction, and carbon emissions. They found that these “green” buildings, on average, outperform similar non-green buildings in all categories. REES Earth believes a fully integrated project approach has proven the best method for implementing sustainable architecture practices. As such, undertaking a LEED project is an opportunity to lead by example.
